What a signature card is

A signature printing carries an artist’s signature and is sold as its own TCGplayer product. The catalog labels it “(Signature)” after the card name. The catalog holds 50 of them out of 1,702 printings, spread over a handful of sets.

Signature and overnumbered cards often share a number

In several sets a signature printing sits at the same collector number as an overnumbered printing of the same champion. The collector number alone is then not enough. The name suffix, “(Signature)” or “(Overnumbered)”, is what separates the two, and so does the price, which is why the scanner shows a chooser rather than guessing.

How to identify a signature card

  1. Look for the signature on the artwork.
  2. Read the collector line: signature printings are numbered above the set’s printed size.
  3. Open the card page and compare every printing of the card, then confirm the finish.

Never value a signature card using the standard card’s price. Look it up in the card list for its set or scan it with the scanner. For the plain alternate-art version of a card see alternate art cards.

How these numbers are calculated

Every figure on this page is calculated when the site is built, from the public RiftHunt card catalog and the daily TCGplayer price estimates published through the RiftHunt API. A printing’s headline price is its normal market price, otherwise its foil market price, otherwise its lowest listing. Medians are used instead of averages so a few expensive cards do not distort the result. Prices are estimates for typical copies, not offers to buy or sell. RIFT SCAN is an unofficial fan project; see about RIFT SCAN, or look up any card in the set lists.
