Scanning and identifying Riftbound cards
A price is only useful if it belongs to the right printing. These guides cover reading the set code and collector number printed on a card, getting a clean scan of foils, fixing a wrong match and scanning a whole collection without typing.
How to read a Riftbound card: set code, collector number and language
Look at the bottom-left corner of a Riftbound card. A line such as "VEN • 134/166 • EN" gives the set code (VEN), the collector number (134), the number of cards in the set (166) and the language (EN). Together, set code and number identify the printing, which is what a price check needs.
How to scan foil Riftbound cards without glare
Scan foil Riftbound cards under soft, even light from the side, never directly overhead. Keep the card flat on a dark matte surface, fill the frame and tilt it a few degrees if a glare patch covers the bottom-left collector line. A camera cannot see the finish, so choose Foil yourself after the scan.
Riftbound scanner picked the wrong card? Why it happens and how to fix it
A wrong Riftbound scan almost always comes from a misread character, glare over the collector line, or two printings that share a name or number, such as a Metal promo and its standard card. Compare the set code and number on the card with the result, then choose the right printing from the list or search by number.
How to scan a whole Riftbound collection fast
Turn on automatic adding to your binder, sort the cards by set, and scan them one after another in Auto mode on a plain surface under even light. Fix any card flagged as uncertain as you go, set foils to Foil, then export the binder to CSV as a backup. A few hundred cards take well under an hour.
